A Little Bit About Terrie

Terrie began her massage therapy career in Boulder Colorado where she graduated in 1998 from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy with over 1,100 hours of training. Her focus while at BCMT was in Orthopedic and Sports Massage. Terrie’s approach to bodywork is to first and foremost listen to her clients. She believes that her extensive knowledge of and passion for anatomy, paired with her training and skill in an array of bodywork techniques can only be therapeutic and beneficial if they are applied to each client as an individual.  No two bodies or people are alike; therefore each session is tailored to each client’s specific needs.

Working with a wide variety of clients including athletes, musicians, chronic pain sufferers, those with repetitive strain injuries, and those suffering the stress and strain of everyday life is part of what Terrie enjoys about her work.  During each session she draws from multiple modalities, including but not limited to, neuromuscular therapy, deep tissue, myofascial release and Swedish.  These techniques along with her intuition and listening skills combine to effect change and to help the body heal. Terrie strongly believes that a therapeutic massage can also be relaxing and that a relaxation massage is also therapeutic.  She enjoys educating her clients about their own bodies and teaching self care in order to facilitate the healing effects of massage and create long lasting change.

Terrie is licensed by the state of Massachusetts and is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association.  In addition to her degree from Boulder College of Massage, Terrie earned a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from Russell Sage College.  She also holds a certification in Neuromuscular Therapy through the NMT Center and is a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition with a certification in Holistic Health Coaching.  She is always learning and enjoys taking a variety of continuing education courses and deepening her knowledge of anatomy.

In addition to massage Terrie enjoys being outside, reading, and her newest passion, beekeeping.
